Stephanie Panousieris

Stephanie Panousieris was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a 2020 graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She also holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Texas, an MA in Social Justice and Human Rights from Arizona State University, and an Advanced Certificate in Public Administration and Public Policy from the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Prior to earning a law degree, she worked as a nonprofit consultant and grant writer, and did a brief stint as a professional contemporary dancer in New York City. Her experience working at the intersection of art and social justice led her to pursue a career in the law.

At Cardozo, Stephanie was honored as a Berg Public Interest Fellow for her dedication to public service. She also spent a year as a clinical student at the Innocence Project, which fights to exonerate the wrongfully convicted, and a year in the Cardozo Civil Rights Clinic, which represents incarcerated individuals and victims of law enforcement misconduct. After graduation, she joined a boutique civil rights firm as a law clerk in Torrance, California.

Stephanie joined Rickner PLLC in August 2020, and has since developed significant experience litigating cases against the City and State of New York for violations of her clients' constitutional and statutory rights at the hands of law enforcement. She is admitted to practice in state and federal court in New York, New Jersey, and California.
